First, I'm thrilled and humbled to share that Dinosaurs & Cherry Stems was read and reviewed by fire enthusiast, James Garcia, the talented author of Dance of Fire and Dance on Fire: Flash Point. For sure there's something to be said about a busy author with a new launch to market, who takes the time to read another's work and actually post a blog about it. Here's the link, with much gratitude to Jimmy! http://jamesgarciajr.blogspot.com/2012/12/dinosaurs-and-cherry-stems.html?m=1 …
Oh, and do take a moment to check out his books via Amazon! You won't be sorry you did!
My second announcement is I've been tagged in THE NEXT BIG THING BLOG HOP: Here's the scoop and welcome to this blog hop:
What is a blog hop? Basically, it’s a way that readers can discover new authors, because with bookstores closing and publishers not promoting new authors as much, we need to find a way to introduce readers to authors they may not see in their local bookstore.
Here you have the chance to explore many new authors, specifically Donna Galanti and her paranormal suspense novel, A Human Element. NY Times bestselling author Jonathan Maberry calls “an elegant and haunting first novel. Unrelenting, devious but full of heart”.
There will also be five other authors you can check out at the conculsion of this post, but for now I'd like to thank fellow author, Donna Galanti, for tagging me to particiapte! Simply click on the links below to learn more about Donna's book!
In this particular hop, I and my fellow authors, in their respective blogs, have answered 10 questions where you get to learn about our current work in progress as well as some insights into our process, from characters and inspirations to plotting and cover decisions. I hope you enjoy it!
Please feel free to comment and share your thoughts and questions. Here is my Next Big Thing!
DG: What is the working title of your book? SR: Dinosaurs & Cherry Stems
DG: Where did the idea come from for the book? SR: I was writing an article about the pros and cons of Internet dating and found I had so much material, I'd try developing it into a romantic comedy.
DG: What genre does your book come under? SR: Definitely Humorous Romance! ;)
DG: Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition? SR: Michelle Pfeifer and George Clooney--they'd sizzle together, don't you think?
DG: What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book? SR: Dinosaurs & Cherry Stems is the tale of how a couple learns to take their baggage from former relationships and make it work for them, instead of against them.
DG: Is your book self-published, published by an independent publisher, or represented by an agency? SR: Dinosaurs & Cherry Stems was self-published and I had a great team behind me every step of the way!
long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript? SR: Just over a year, I'd say.
DG: What other books would you compare this story to within your genre? SR: Any wonderful, romantic read, with very little erotica but plenty of steam and humor!
DG: Who or what inspired you to write this book? SR: I wrote this book to inspire others in similar situations to never to give up on exploring a happy relationship, even though the journey's a tough bugger!
DG: What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest? SR: Although some of my story is based on experience, there's tons of humorous embelishments I'm sure readers will be able to relate to, because it's real and not based on research.
