It's Liebster Award Time...Or, Positivity is Everything

February 26, 2016
I couldn’t think of anyone less likely to receive the Liebster Award, but my talented author friend Christy King has faith in me, thus my nomination. Positive thoughts are key to a fulfilling existence no matter what kind of creativity you're into, and I'm excited beyond words to be included in this hand-clapping cool concept of sharing my blog with others.
So, thank you, Christy, for this honor - I’m also
grateful for the opportunity for the guest post.
Without further ado, here’s some great insight into our Christy King. Please check out her bio and her blog/website:
Christy King is a Fantasy author who writes about supernatural elements and how they impact lives. The characters she creates have power, but pay a heavy price.
Ms. King lives in Bastrop, Texas where an unlikely pine forest grows, along with her husband of more than 20 years. She enjoys her pet dogs and cats, as well as traveling, the beach, the mountains, and writing. See the Books page for information on upcoming novels. Information on how to download e-books will be available as they are released. Stay tuned for more.
Blurb for Talia, which I rated 5stars, BTW:

Teenage queen Talia has secured her realm and married the love of her life. Just when everything seems idyllic, Camon decides that he needs to hunt down the vampire Arden for performing experiments on Talia to learn the limits of her powers. The quest sets into motion devastating events, causing the rulers to enlist the aid of the realm of Sollon. Family secrets are revealed and Talia discovers that she is far more than what she believed. Can she resist the lure of a power greater than any known in their world? Will the ones she loves be able to cope with the knowledge that she is far less human than they knew?
Here are the rules:
1.    Copy and paste the Liebster Award badge into your post.
2.    Answer the ten questions.
3.    I’ve nominated bloggers and informed them of their nomination via social media methods. Since we’re all crazy busy, I’m nominating just five.
4.    Listing ten new questions for my nominees to answer:
Nominated bloggers, and/or anyone else who wants to participate, here are your questions from me:

    1. What would you do if you went back in time and ended up as yourself at 16 years old again?
    2. Who is your real-life superhero and why?
    3. If you could be any of your own book characters (or someone else's) who would it be and why?
    4. Puppies or kittens?
    5. What would retirement look like for you and what would you do?
    6. If you have books published, which one do you wish you'd written differently and how would you change it. If not, what would your best of the best novel look like?
    7. Happily ever after or happily never after?
    8. Do your day job coworkers end up as characters in your novels?
    9. If you could live in a TV show, which show would it be?
    10. How many books are in your to-be-read pile and which one is up next to read?

PS: If your pet answer is CAT, then you know I copycatted Christy King’s questions! Win-Win! Read on!

    Here’s my answers:

Christy:  What would you do if you went back in time and ended up as yourself at 16 years old again?

Sue: Finish that college education, and don't marry on the rebound.

Christy: 2. Who is your real-life superhero and why?

Sue: My real-life super hero is my husband Joe. Even though I’m snarcastic, he forgives me all the time. Plus he reads and edits all of my stories. He’s an awesome lover, and the inspiration for My Sexy Chef.

Christy: 3. If you could be any of your own book characters (or someone else's) who would it be and why?

Sue:  I’d be Malibu O’Hare from My Sexy Chef. Guess I already am, though, because I have my own Sexy Chef. (It’s getting personal now…)

    Christy: 4. Puppies or kittens?

Sue: Love my Yellow lab, and kitties, too, but since Joe’s allergic, I guess we'll hang with the doggie!

Christy: 5. What would retirement look like for you and what would you do?

Sue: Retirement means full time dedication to the writing craft – which is where I am now, day in and day out. It’s like breathing to me.

Christy: 6. If you have books published, which one do you wish you'd written differently and how would you change it. If not, what would your best of the best novel look like?

Sue: I like ALL of my novels. Not bragging, I just don’t have any regrets. So far…

Christy: 7. Happily ever after, or happily never after?

    Sue: Happily ever ALWAYS!

Christy: 8. Do your day job coworkers end up as characters in your novels?

Sue: My Ex husband sure did! I gave him a stiff penalty in Dinosaurs & Cherry Stems, pun very intended!

Christy: 9. If you could live in a TV show, which show would it be?

Sue:  Burn Notice – I’d play Fiona.  She’s a tough costumer, who has plenty of T4 in her purse. And weapons! Oh, yeah!

Christy:  10. How many books are in your to-be-read pile, and which one is up next to read?

Sue: I’d love to read the last two Daniel Silva books – I’ve missed them - Spy stories with an Israel twist. Love his work.

Thanks so much for reading my interview with Christy, as my time with her rocked! Have an awesome weekend, folks, and be kind to each other.

Show & Tell Time OR How I Got a New Crockpot - Recipe for Disaster

February 2, 2016
After eight months of renovating the fixer-upper Joe and I bought last May, we’ve nearly completed the mission of having “Our Dream Home.”
Too bad we almost blew up the new kitchen the other night, but I’ll be getting to that.
The air conditioning quit our second day in the new place, and cost an unplanned $4800 to replace. Leave it to spring to herald in the hottest May on record, while we literally baked in the glory of renesting.

What a Wonderful Year This Has Been

December 7, 2015
This has been a year filled with many triumphs and changes. As I reflect on these memories, I’d love to share some with you.

First, we welcomed my youngest daughter’s baby son into the world on April 25. Although he was a month early, he suffered no ill effects, and he’s a healthy robust, almost-eight-month-old! His personality radiates the best of both families, and we all love him to pieces!

Career wise, I’ve recently had the honor of participating in an author’s dream-come-true.

Kindness Matters!

June 30, 2015

Hey Everyone!!

As our month of positivity is coming to an end, it seems like a good time to reflect on the things we've learned and the goals we've created for ourselves.

As I, Barbara Chioffi, reflect on this month, sharing with my fellow bloggers has meant so much. We all need a support system that is uplifting and filled with positivity, and that is what has made this month so special. Each of us has our own methods to deal with those days when nothing seems to go right,...

Just Be A Little Kinder

June 26, 2015

“If you judge people you have no time to love them.” Mother Teresa

I saw this quote circulating twitter during the week and it really struck a chord with me. Then, having recently attended my Granddaughter’s 8th grade graduation, I was pleased to see the motivation of the graduating class was to be a little kinder – exactly what I’d like to bring into the fold today.

I’ve paid close attention to my fellow Positivity blog tour authors’...
